How Sweet it Is

Yesterday I posted about cookie dough ice cream. Well, there's one author that popped into my mind the whole time I was testing and writing. Then, his new book arrived in the mail! I was so excited to get my copy of David Lebovitz's The Sweet Life In Paris. After the kids were in bed, dishes washed and a bit more work done, I cuddled up with it and hot cup of tea. I didn't want to stop reading but knew I had to sleep if there's any hope of this cold going away. I woke up wondering where I'd find a break in the day to enjoy a few more pages. So today, I want to share that feeling with all you. It's my thank you for all the delicious words and suport you've shared in your comments (BTW: Lebovitz so graciously thanks his readers in the acknowledgments too. I promise to do so if I ever have time to write that book proposal and then get it published).

So, how can you win a copy courtesy of his publishers over at Broadway Books? Leave a comment here letting me know which recipe or post you've enjoyed reading most at In Jennie's Kitchen.

The nitty gritty: please only one comment per person, duplicates will be deleted to keep it fair for everyone. The winner will be selected using random.org's number generator. Good luck and be sure to leave your comment before 11:59pm Thursday night—that's when this sweet deal ends.

I’ve been dying to get my hands on this book! I’m fairly new to your blog, but your 47 minute lasagna still calls out to me–I love lasagna!

I loved your Plantain 101 post back in March… Being Puerto Rican, I love trying to create foods from things from my childhood and I rarely find things to use. Thanks! I loved it!

Pizza Fridays for sure! My 21 year old son rarely eats anything else – this was superb!!!

The post from today! Fellow enjoyer of settling down with a book and hot tea.
I like your blog and will be back!

I looved your post about the Strawberry Jam. Thank you so much for the recipe. I agree, that a lot of recipes use far too much sugar.

I love the mamas meatballs. I like to soak my bread in cream. Just made some last night!

Loved your pizza video. I gave up on making my own pizza dough years ago (it always came out too yeasty tasting), but you make everything look so easy (and tasty!) that i can’t wait to try it again. Thx!
ps. good luck with your garden! although you’ll probably need to give more space to each broccoli plant–they are seriously big plants.

I’d have to say the Strawberry Jam post. My fridge is packed with strawberries right now and I love that your recipe lets the natural flavor of the fruit shine through without dumping in a ton of sugar.

“Mama’s Meatballs” was my favorite! I think we all have those special food memories.

My favorite post is definitely Mama’s Meatballs. I love the story, and the recipe is very close to the one I relied on for years, then lost. Also, I love the term “Edible Heirlooms” and may borrow it as the title of a collection of family recipes I’m compiling for my girls.

I’m an ice cream maker and in an ode to David Lebovitz I will chose the Cookie Dough Ice Cream post.

Oh, I’ve been wanting to read that! I’m a fan of the make-your-own butter post ’cause that’s something I’ve been wanting to do with my little guy. Thanks!

Even your tweets make my mouth water! Since I’ve never really tried meatballs, I enjoyed reading about those.
I LOVE this kind of book. I just got one called Eat My Globe: One Year to Go Anywhere and Eat Anything.

I loved your Pizza Fridays post! Something about having a routine on the last day of the week to welcome in the weekend with friends just made me smile. Hopefully, your friend will be able to share a Friday Pizza with you sometime soon!
