Checking In | Thankful Thursdays 06.23.2016
It’s been a whirlwind few weeks. Even though I’m feeling the effects of being back in my serene little part of the woods, feeling settled is a false sense of security. The next month will be filled with a lot of back forth. All of my own choosing, partly for work, partly for pleasure.
This weekend, we’re NYC bound. I lived in Brooklyn my whole life, but never managed to take the tram to Roosevelt Island. Really, there was no need for me to go there. Tomorrow I plan to take the kids, and explore the island a bit. It has quite the storied past in NYC history.
Afterwards, we’re heading to Brooklyn, and you can only imagine how ridiculously excited I am to see one of my best friends for dinner. It’s been way too long. I suppose I should get my butt in gear to find a place for us to eat.
Sunday will find us in Coney Island for a press event, which had uncanny timing. Isabella had been asking to go for a visit, and then, boom, an invite came to do a little taste of the boardwalk. I’m not quite sure what to expect of the food, since my image of Coney Island is stuck in the 1970s and 80s. It’s been years since I’ve been there, and even then I never ate there (crazy, I know). We used to take Bella to Luna Park for her birthday every year.
And then next weekend, Montreal here we come. That was a crazy last minute trip I planned in the matter of an hour. Really, we should stay put up here, and enjoy the peace. This was the only opening I saw in my schedule for the next few months, so I decided to just do it. Before I run, I wanted to share some photos from our first few days back upstate. I’ve been sharing garden “tours” on snapchat, too, so pop on over there, and follow me (jennifer perillo) if you want a peek.

Enjoy returning to your house and all of your travels. We’re going to Montreal this summer after a week in Nova Scotia. Can’t wait to explore some of Canada. On a foodie note, my mom and 13 year old daughter are in France right now. Provence with Paris on both ends. You should see the list of food items requested by those of us left here in the States!
